Can RFID tags be recycled?
Many companies reuse their RFID tags hundreds of times over in closed-loop applications. Others use tags to support recycling applications. For instance, a European carmaker is testing how RFID can help it recycle car parts. In addition, some companies are developing RFID tags which can be recycled. In general, the larger elements in RFID hardware systems – i.e. readers – will not reach landfills any faster than other electronic items such as computers or mobile phones.
Tags will be recycled according to existing regulations around the world.
