Making the world a little better with RFID
Livestock tagging
RFID tags are used around the world to monitor and track livestock. Industry experts estimate that in 2010 there were RFID tags on 18 million Australian cattle, 11 million English sheep, 16 million Spanish sheep and goats, 4.5 million cattle in Botswana, 2 million sheep in Italy, 8 million cattle in Uruguay and 1 million sheep and goats in Portugal. The technology is harmless to the animals, and it allows farmers to keep an eye on the whereabouts of their flocks and herds. It also enables a variety of applications including traceability and recall.
